Poster Competition

ANAC is pleased to showcase the research of graduate students in fields related to Animal Science and Nutrition during the Graduate Student Poster and Oral Presentation Competition, to be held at the 2018 ANCC in Edmonton.

Students from across Canada are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada 2018. All posters accepted for presentation will be eligible for cash awards, and the abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.

Posters will be available for public viewing throughout the conference, and graduate students are expected to be present from 5:15 pm to 7:15 pm on Wednesday, May 2nd, during which time judges will visit the posters. Winners will be announced on May 3rd, and awards will be presented to winners as follows:

  • First place - $500
  • Second place - $300
  • Third place - $200

Oral Presentation Competition

Abstracts submitted by students from Western Canadian universities (British Colombia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) will automatically be considered for an oral presentation at the conference. One abstract will be presented in each of the ruminant and monogastric sections. The winners will be invited to give a 15 minute (12 minute presentation + 3 minutes for questions) oral presentation at ANCC 2018. The selected student will be informed by March 23rd and will have their registration and travel expenses to the conference paid by the conference. The winner will be asked to provide an expanded abstract (2 pages) that will be published in the conference proceedings. Students from Western Canadian universities who do not wish to be considered for the oral presentation should specifically state this at the time of their abstract submission.

ANAC Graduate Scholarship

Are you a Canadian university graduate student enrolled in Animal Science or a related field of study, with a specific interest in animal nutrition? The Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC) Graduate Scholarship is made possible through funding by ANAC member companies. In addition to the $4,000 award, the scholarship recipient will have the opportunity to present their research at the opening plenary of the 2018 ANCC.
